Perplexity introduces AI email assistant for Max users

Perplexity has rolled out a new tool called Email Assistant, giving users the ability to offload routine email tasks to an AI chatbot. The feature is designed to handle essentials like scheduling meetings, organizing and prioritizing incoming emails, and even drafting responses.
At launch, the Email Assistant integrates exclusively with Gmail and Outlook, two of the most widely used email platforms. Users who activate the feature can simply write to Perplexity’s dedicated assistant email address to begin using it.
However, access to the new tool comes at a steep price. The Email Assistant is limited to customers on Perplexity’s Max plan, a top-tier subscription option introduced in July that costs $200 per month. This makes it one of the more premium AI productivity offerings currently available on the market.
Perplexity stresses that while the AI assistant does not train on a user’s private email data, it does attempt to mimic their writing style when generating responses—allowing drafted replies to feel more personal and natural.
The Email Assistant is available starting today to all eligible Max subscribers.
