Replit raises $250 million at a $3 billion valuation

Replit, the fast-growing collaborative coding platform, has closed a $250 million funding round that values the company at $3 billion, according to sources familiar with the deal. The round marks a dramatic leap in valuation from its last raise in 2023, when the startup secured $100 million at a $1.16 billion post-money valuation. To date, Replit has raised roughly $478 million, per PitchBook estimates.
Founded in 2016 by programmers Amjad Masad, Faris Masad, and designer Haya Odeh, Replit has become one of the most widely used platforms for what it calls “vibe coding” — a collaborative, browser-based environment for building, sharing, and deploying apps. Unlike many of its peers, Replit has not aggressively sought venture capital every few months, though its accelerating growth may be shifting that approach.
Rocketing Revenue Growth
Replit reports that its business has been expanding at breakneck speed. The company said its annualized revenue jumped from $2.8 million to $150 million in less than a year, a staggering increase. As of June, founder and CEO Amjad Masad noted that Replit had already reached $100 million ARR.
New and Returning Investors
The latest round was led by Prysm Capital, with participation from Amex Ventures and Google’s AI Futures Fund. Longtime backers including Y Combinator, David Sacks’ Craft Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, and Paul Graham also returned.
Google’s presence as an investor underscores the deepening ties between the two companies. Replit’s coding environment is often hosted on Google Cloud, and the partnership has grown as developers flock to the platform. At the same time, Replit’s popularity has drawn interest from competitors: in July, Microsoft added Replit as an option on Azure, signaling its recognition of the platform’s reach.
A Rising Force in AI-Powered Development
With its soaring valuation and surging revenue, Replit is positioning itself at the center of the AI-driven software development boom. By offering tools that make coding more collaborative, accessible, and cloud-native, the company is gaining traction with hobbyists, educators, and professional developers alike.
The $250 million round not only triples Replit’s valuation in under two years but also cements its role as one of the leading platforms shaping the future of coding.
