Siemens has officially inaugurated its $190 million, 500,000-square-foot electrical equipment manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The site will produce critical electrical infrastructure to support the growing demand from data centers and AI-driven industries, reinforcing Siemens’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and job creation in the U.S.

Scaling Production and Creating 800 Jobs

The new facility is a key expansion for Siemens' Smart Infrastructure business, manufacturing essential components such as low-voltage switchboards that power commercial and industrial sectors. The site has already introduced 480 jobs, with plans to reach 800 by 2026.

Siemens is taking a unique approach to workforce training by incorporating former schoolteachers and principals into its employee development programs. This initiative ensures efficient skill-building and faster onboarding, bridging the gap between education and industry needs.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott praised Siemens' investment, stating, “Siemens’ $190 million facility will create high-quality jobs and strengthen Texas’ position as a leader in manufacturing and innovation.”

A Carbon-Neutral Future for U.S. Manufacturing

As part of Siemens’ net-zero carbon goal by 2030, the Fort Worth plant is carbon-neutral and a model for sustainable manufacturing. Key features include:

  • All-electric powder-coat paint line
  • Energy-efficient HVAC systems and electric forklifts
  • Photovoltaic streetlights for renewable energy use
  • LuxWall windows for reduced energy consumption

Digital Innovation Driving Production

Siemens leveraged its Digital Industries Software to optimize the factory’s layout and production flow. 3D simulations using Siemens Technomatix enabled precision manufacturing, ensuring higher efficiency and product quality.

Siemens' Continued U.S. Investments

The Fort Worth opening follows Siemens' $95 million expansion in Pomona, California, and is part of a broader $690 million investment in U.S. manufacturing. Other key projects include:

  • $36 million expansion in Wendell, North Carolina, for fabrication and workforce training
  • $220 million rail manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina
  • Grand Prairie, Texas plant expansion for critical infrastructure electrification

Strengthening U.S. Infrastructure

Barry Powell, Regional CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure North America, emphasized the company’s commitment: “Siemens is scaling up to ensure U.S. industry has the power distribution solutions needed to remain competitive.”

With the AI and data center boom accelerating, Siemens' Fort Worth facility plays a vital role in strengthening America’s electrical infrastructure while setting new sustainability standards for the industry.
